Everyday like clockwork, our school’s food service workers provide meals for hundreds of Ocean City’s own students and teachers, ensuring quality lunches. Most of their work goes unnoticed because of how smoothly they run things. The Current OC takes you into the lives of the people that provide you with lunch each and every school day.
Providing Ocean City’s hundreds of students with a meal takes much effort by the staff. Although community lunch is only fifty-five minutes long, the preparation takes several hours. For our school’s food service workers, their day starts at the same time as everyone else’s.
And the work doesn’t stop there. These staff members continue working until that final bell rings.
In order to switch things up, every month the workers rotate spots. This gives them an opportunity to get a fresh look at how lunches are made.
Although making lunches is hard work, day in and day out, the workers find it incredibly rewarding. For them it always comes back to the students.Share This Item:
