"The Morning Wave," is Ocean City High School's own in-house production. It is additionally rebroadcast on UTTV 2 (Fri. & Sat. at 7AM & 9AM) and Access 2 Ocean City (Thu. & Fri. at 7PM & Sun. at 11:30AM). The program is much more than a simple read of the morning announcements. It moves at the same fast pace as the first eleven minutes of news during most local newscasts. On a daily basis, students are in the field gathering ideas and creating program content that airs during those 10 minutes every Wednesday. Television/Media Production 2 allows students to take on the real-world positions just as they would if working at a professional station.
The show is staffed by: producers, writers, editors, reporters, photojournalists, anchors, directors, technical directors, tape control operators, floor directors, studio camera operators, prompting assistants, and audio engineers. "The Morning Wave," also known as "TMW", is produced entirely by students for the students. It is student-staff that determines all program content.
What makes the "TMW" so unique is our students' desire to be creative. What you won't find here, is "talking heads". Kids are not here to read morning announcements! We provide those in our crawl, located on the bottom of the screen. What "TMW" does offer is an imaginative, highly entertaining news magazine. A weekly show, produced by the students for the students. Those enrolled in TV/Media Production 2 are responsible for every facet of televison production, from story concept to final edit & delivery. Our broadcast is not only highly anitcipated by our students, but by our staff as well.
